8 Fun Things To Do in Fort Myers and Cape Coral

We love the Fort Myers and Cape Coral area, or as many of us around here also like to call it Southwest Florida.

For family activities, there is so much to do. And the business climate is strong and supportive. It’s no wonder why we chose the Fort Myers area for family and business! The entire area is full of family-friendly communities rich in history, growth, and plenty of opportunities.

At Epoxy Floor Supply Company, we truly believe in hard work supporting our Florida and national customers with the best epoxy supplies. But, when we’re not driving our best in customer support, we love to play hard too and enjoy what the Fort Myers area has to offer in the way of recreation with our family and friends.

For our Florida customers and those of you out of state visiting the Fort Myers area, check out some of our favorite spots below.

FORT MYERS BEACH

Looking for a cute, quaint town with lots of character and an incredible beach facing the Gulf of Mexico? Come visit Fort Myers Beach, which sits within a town on Estero Island. When you are done tanning and swimming, you can view marine life a the Ostego Bay Marine Science Center. If you love nature preserves, then check out Matanzas Pass Preserve to the east. For shopping and great restaurants, head to the Times Square shopping center. Fort Myers Beach is definitely a full day of adventure.

HARBOUR VIEW GALLERY

Harbour View Gallery is a popular hangout for local artists and those who really enjoy supporting local artists. It’s the only artist-owned co-op gallery in Cape Coral, and the gallery is staffed by exhibiting artists. Not only can you view artwork, but you can speak with the creators on the spot. Opening in 2007, over 300 local artists have been featured. Be sure to check out the public reception on the first Tuesday of every month to honor two artists.

WESTERN EVERGLADES ADVENTURE TOUR

If you fear things with large teeth and thick leathery skin, then you might want to pass. But, maybe not! This is certainly an adventure for the entire family - and for those who want to conquer their fears of alligators, snakes, and other reptile creatures. Pulling out of Fort Myers, view more of the Florida Everglades as you’ve never seen them before. Swamps, marshes, and wildlife literally come to life with a highly-knowledgeable guide. It’s a rich, interactive show certainly to please. Make your reservations at Western Everglades Adventure Tour

CAPE CORAL HISTORICAL MUSEUM

This museum is a family favorite and has been since 1987 when it first opened its doors to the public. The mission of the board of directors is to welcome all generations to share the unique history of southwest Florid and Cape Coral through the museum’s collections, exhibitions, educational programs, initiatives, and research.

SUN SPLASH FAMILY WATERPARK

Located at 400 Santa Barbara Boulevard, the park is very convenient to get to with plenty of parking. Sun Splash has everything for the family: water slides, splash pads, swimming pools, water playgrounds, and lazy rivers. For those hot Florida days, visit Sun Splash

SOUTHERN FRESH FARMS

If you are looking for fresh, locally-produced healthy options of organically grown fruits and vegetables, along with other baked goods, home foods, and salsa, this is the farmers market for you. The farmers market is a Fort Myers staple and is packed with barnyard animals, a huge playground, as well as a hydroponic operation for touring. Parents can relax by the waterfall while the kids play.

SUNSET SAIL

After a long day, sometimes you just want to take the family and unwind with a sunset. At Sunset Sail, you get to experience a two-hour cruise on a gorgeous catamaran with a drink in hand, as you watch the scenes pass you by. As a family-run business for four generations, the owners know the waters and best viewing spots better than any other sunset cruise operator. They offer two options: sailing for those who want an afternoon trip, or, for their most popular cruise, the evening sunset sail. Be sure to make a reservation

POPSTROKE

Who says you can’t have caviar and champagne with a little bit of mini-golf? Well, the folks at PopStroke want to lift your mini-golf game up ten notches. The operators will take you on a luxury minibus or van for a game of family-friendly golf and an outdoor dining experience that takes your mini-golf fetish to another level. You get to play two 18-hole putting courses designed by the master himself, Tiger Woods. Woah. With unlimited play and an on-site restaurant, there is plenty to do to relax and play for about 3.5 hours.
